sometimes the blade or swivel gets caught on the hook point (flyfishing).....maybe 30% of the time. And I wish you had a size between #8 and #1...perhaps a #4.
All that said, this fly does catch smallmouth. The blade definitely gives me an advantage compared to non blade flies....decievers/clousers.
