The Pencil Float is one of our most sensitive floats and one of the best floats for cold-water and tough bite fishing conditions. The Gapen Pencil Float is both a casting and pole fishing float, a fixed float (fixed depth) and a slip float or slider float. The float (bobber) is so versatile because of it's special SLIP-N-LOCK line attachment hook.
ALL GAPEN floats fish both slip-float style and fixed float style.
Use the Pencil float's SLIP-N-LOCK to add it to your rig and to take it off quickly. One of the only bobbers on the market where you can change floats without remaking your bobber rig. Simply slide the locking sleeve open and you can transport your rod and rig without the float bouncing up and down. When you are ready to fish - simply snap the hook on your line and lock down the sleeve - simple and fast to setup.
Slip-N-Lock Feature: Slip-N-Lock floats can be used as either a slip float or a stationary float as shown here. 1. Insert line through slot in side of locking device. 2. To rig float as a slip float, pull sleeve down just slightly over slot opening. 3. To rig float as a permanent float, pull sleeve all the way down at the end of locking device.
Gapen's Slip-N-Lock floats are ideal for any game species of fish you seek. Each float can be used for any fish. Smaller floats are more sensitive, larger floats cast longer and also can fish a larger bait. When choosing your float size, use these tips as a guideline: - Order several sizes for different casting distances wind conditions!!
- Larger sizes cast further
- Larger floats are more stable in waves and in wind
- For Panfish, use the 5 or 7 Crappie Float or the 6 or 7 Bream Float.
- For walleye and Bass, select the 5 or 6 Walleye Float, or 7 or 8 Bream style.
- For Muskie, Pike, Catfish or Stripers, use the 10 or 12 Big Game Style.
- For Trout, Bluegill Perch & Crappie when fishing spikes or light baits - the 5" or 7" Pencil Float catches the most and largest fish.
