Beaded Bluegill Bug

Gapen's have added these new summer & winter fly/jigs to their winter line of lures due to the excellent results on panfish and trout during a three-year research study. They've proven to represent the natural food of the insect-feeding fish species.

When working this style of winter jig, do so very, very slowly. Allow the fly/jig to settle, then twitch it gently upwards and repeat the procedure as often as it takes to entice the fish. You may, if you wish, add a tiny piece of worm, maggot or waxy.

5 of 5 Fantastic lure!! February 17, 2020

I’ve used these through the ice with great results. It’s something that smart mid/late season fish haven’t seen again and again like Moxy’s and pimples. Great for clear water as well because the movement is delicate and subtle.
